Graphic Designer – October 2017 - present – Environment and Climate Change Canada, Gatineau
  • Finalized the layout and re-established the branding for a series of publications, using InDesign
  • Worked in AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) to format new and existing web pages
  • Used Illustrator to re-format figures and charts, for print and on-line

Team Lead – May 2017 - August 2017 – Algonquin Client Project (CHEO Research Institute)
  • Team lead in the creation of two short motion graphic videos for CHEO
  • Kept the project flowing easily by communicating with client, setting up timeline chart, and along with my team members, creating a detailed storyboard to follow
  • Used Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and our new animation skills to produce the two videos

Graphic Designer – May 2015 - March 2016 – Department of National Defence, Gatineau
  • Completed the design of a variety of items including floor banners, a newspaper, posters, infographics, PPT slides, and images destined for digital use
  • Responsible for creating templates in Illustrator, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, using specific branding guidelines
  • Worked with a large group of designers, sharing projects and responsibilities

Graphic Designer – February - April 2015 – Environment and Climate Change Canada, Gatineau
  • Layout and formatting of large reports using the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Followed detailed guidelines to ensure final PDF was as interactive and accessible as possible (hyperlinks, bookmarks, cross-references, styles)
  • Worked with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create and reformat photographs, graphs and diagram

Graphic Design Specialist – 2000 - 2014 – Canadian Nurses Association, Ottawa
  • Responsible for design projects from concept to pre-press (including posters, advertising, brochures, floor and building banners, and publications), using mostly Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Created visual elements for web use and social media, and re-created print material for use on-line – including web banners, PDF forms, and web images
  • Daily multi-tasking – balanced a wide variety of deadlines, while working alongside clients, editors and translators, providing advice on design direction, making content and formatting changes to English and French documents
  • Attended yearly design conferences to keep familiar with the design community and best practices in the field and how it extends to web design and multimedia, with emphasis on the importance of branding
  • Admin-related responsibilities – maintaining a photo database and a file inventory list, and creating templates for InDesign, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
